How Killarney Provincial Park began!! Sheer devilment by Newland Spreadborough!! From Cottage Life's 1993 story about the Spreadborough Cottage Yacht Registry and an interview with 84 year old Margaret (Spreadborough) Hooton who spent her first summer at the Pool, Baie Fine in 1917. 'An entry in the yacht registry from September 2, 1931 shows a sketch of four small figures bent under packs and canoes. The signature is A. Y. Jackson. Jackson and here is a portion of a letter he wrote to his relative Naomi Jackson Groves on October 22, 1933 and postmarked 'Willisville' October 25, 1933. "I merely make sketches. Joachim Gauthier & Franklin Carmichael

1928, 1929 and 1931 sketches by Joachim Gauthier of the Grace Lake and Willisville area. Joachin would have done these sketches while camping/painting/sketching with Franklin Carmichael of the Group of 7. Joachim took the famous photo of Carmichael at Grace Lake in October 1935. Joachim also painted/sketched/camped with A. J. Casson for 60+ years...The last photo is of Joachim & Cass at the Arts and Letters Club in Toronto in 1982.
